Churches

All my life in childhood and in marriage later on, the church I attended became my social hub. I went to the Mennonite Brethren Church when I was a boy. I went to college and became an atheist. After I married Diane, we went to a charismatic church.

We attended church Sunday mornings, but we also went to social events with church people.

We left the charismatic church and went to Mary Magdalene Anglican Church, also St. Aidan’s and Holy Trinity. I always joined the worship team and enjoyed making music.

After Diane died I lost interest in church. Partnering up with Anne-Shirley has revealed in me a questioning of all the church ritual I went through.

I don’t go to church anymore, but I miss the friendships we had with people in small groups.

My social circle has moved from church to community.

I maintain respectful appreciation for the Creator in my spirituality.
