Saving of Erin

The short little leprachauns dancin’ ‘round

Were swingin’ shilleleghs stout

A’tryin’ to kill the snakes in the land

A’cursin’ with many a lusty shout.

Then along came St. Pat with his shamrock’s charm

And the snakes went on their way

Since then all the lads and lassies of Erin

Are wearin’ the green to honour the day.
