It was soft twilight –
almost night
when the golden affair began
There were others they say
in the home of Jay
but I saw only Leanne
The organ was playing
and someone was saying
that Jay should perform the cancan
He jazzed by ear
but I did not hear
until it was played by Leanne
Then the music soared
with forte chords…
the piano obeyed her commands
It cried in pain
then danced again
the ivories loved her hands
We talked and laughed
I felt the shaft
of Cupid – little man
It was all most unclinical
I stopped being cynical
and fell in love with Leanne
